Collect safely and keep MyFreebies genuinely free
Use privacy controls, private messages, reports and common-sense collection arrangements.
Before collection
- Use the in-app messages to confirm what is being collected, when, where and how heavy or awkward the item is.
- Do not send money, deposits, payment details or identity documents. Listings on MyFreebies must be free.
- Check measurements, access, lifting needs, parking and whether tools or another person will be needed.
- Stop the collection and report the listing if the item, address, message or behaviour does not feel right.
Location pins
- Town-only and approximate modes protect the exact pickup point from public listing pages.
- Exact public pin mode is for cases where a precise public pickup spot is genuinely useful, such as roadside soil, sand, bricks or bulky outdoor materials.
- Do not publish a private home address as an exact pin unless you are fully comfortable with that point being public.
Messaging
- Email addresses are not displayed publicly.
- Keep messages polite, practical and related to the collection.
- Use the report option for suspicious, abusive, paid, dangerous or misleading listings.

No delivery-fee tricks such as 'free but delivery costs £x'
